The Legacy
She could not give her children gold,
So she gave them faith to have and hold.

She could not give them royal birth...
A name renowned throughout the earth.
But she gave them seeds and garden spot
And shade trees when the sun was hot.

She could not give a silver spoon
Or servants waiting night and noon.
She gave them love and a listening ear
And told them God was always near.

She could not give them ocean trips
Aboard majestic sailing ships.
But she gave them books and quiet time,
Adventures found in prose and rhyme.

She could not give them worldly things
But what she gave was fit for kings.
For with her faith and books and sod,
She made each child aware of God.

And I Love You Lord
Lord, I always wanted to be
Exactly what you wanted me to be
But somehow, I've always
Fallen short of the goal
But that is exactly why
You came to save my soul

Lord You knew that I would need you
You knew all of the mistakes that I would make
And yet, you chose to save me
No matter what it would take

And I love you, Lord
Yes, I love you, Jesus
Thank You for forgiving me
And for always loving me
You never have forsaken me
No matter how far away I've gone
Lord, You've always led me
Right back home

And I love you, Lord
Yes, I love you, Jesus
Thank You for forgiving me
And for always loving me
You never have forsaken me
No matter how far away I've gone
Lord, You've always led me
Right back home

Favorite Bible Verses and Passages from the Bible

Psalms 103
1 Praise the Lord, O my soul; all my inmost being, praise his holy
name
2 Praise the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits -
3 who forgives all your sins and heals all your diseases,
4 who redeems your life from the pit and crowns you with love
and compassion,
5 who satisfies your desires with good things so that your youth
is renewed like the eagle's.
6 The Lord works righteousness and justice for all the oppressed.
7 He made known his ways to Moses, his deeds to the people of
Israel:
8 The Lord is compassionate and gracious, slow to anger,
abounding in love
9 He will not always accuse, nor will he harbor his anger forever;
10 He does not treat us as our sins deserve or repay us
according to our iniquities.
11 For as high as the heavens are above the earth, so great is
his love for all those who fear him;
12 as far as the east is from the west, so far has he removed our
transgressions from us.
13 As a father has compassion on his children, so the Lord has
compassion on those who fear him;
14 for He knows how we are formed, he remembers that we are
dust.
15 As for man, his days are like grass, he flourishes like a flower
of the field;
16 the wind blows over it and it is gone, and its place remembers
it no more.
17 But from everlasting to everlasting the Lord's love is with those
who fear Him, and his righteousness with their children's
children -
18 with those who keep his covenant and remember to obey his
precepts.
19 The Lord has established his throne in heaven and his
kingdom rules over all.
20 Praise the Lord, you his angels, you mighty ones who do his
bidding, who obey his word.
21 Praise the Lord, all his heavenly hosts, you his servants who
do his will.
22 Praise the Lord, all his works everywhere in his dominion.
Praise the Lord, O my soul.

Jeremiah 29:11
For I know the plans that I have for you, says, the Lord; plans to
prosper you, not to harm you. Plans for good and not for evil. So
that you may have a future and a hope.

A Mirror Image of Thee

A mirror image of Thee may I be
A daily reflection of Thee
As You walk beside me
With Your hand to guide me
Show me how I should be

Lord I lift You up
And I give You all the praise
For any good that comes from my
ways
For I long to be
A mirror image of Thee

You alone are the truth and the way
May Your Spirit teach me day by day
As I cling to You and worship You
May I be, a mirror image of Thee

Saved by a Crow?

I’ve always held a low opinion of crows. They squawk and eat garbage and dead animals from the side of the road. They are huge and
black and just unappealing to me. But, last night, God used a crow to re-open my heart and my eyes and ears.

This morning I found myself awakening from a very realistic and emotionally charged dream. For a while, now, I have been drifting
rather aimlessly in my spiritual walk. Still loving God and knowing God’s love, but not seeking Him as I should. I have been pondering
this dilemma for the past couple of weeks and I believe that God woke me up, literally, this morning. With just a reminder that He still
wants me to follow Him because He loves me so much.

I really can’t remember all of the details of the dream, just mainly the emotion. I do remember that in the dream, a crowd and I
witnessed some type of ceremony being performed by a “witch doctor” of sorts. It was a ceremony to expose hidden wrongs and then
bring punishment upon the person exposed.

The “witch doctor” had a jar-like object that was green and had a hole in one end. When she blew in it and held it up, it began to make
some sort of “supernatural” rattling and drumming sounds. She would hold it over towards the person with “hidden sins” and bring the
crow over towards them, as well. The crow looked very old and it was wearing a little red straw hat. Which, at the time, I found to be pretty
amusing. I just had no idea what was about to happen.

As the “witch doctor” shook the green, rattling and drumming jar and brought it and the crow towards the accused, he began to weep
and wail and beg. The crow began hopping back and forth on his perch and his head was almost spinning around and around. The
crow began to squawk loudly and speak clearly, all of the wrongs in the man’s life. As the crow and the jar got closer to the man, the
more serious the accusations became. The man was backing further and further away from them, when he fell to his death from an
open window behind him.

And then, it was my turn to face the crow. I was petrified. I didn’t have any deep dark secrets, recently, but I did not want my past called to
light in front of a crowd of strangers. And the previously accused had backed away to his death. What was about to happen to me?

The “witch doctor” breathed in the green jar and it began its loud rattling and drumming. The crow began to jump back and forth on his
perch. My heart was pounding, I broke out into a sweat, and I began to weep. I thought, “Wasn’t I forgiven for all the bad things that I’ve
done? Why is this happening? God, are you there?”
Suddenly, the crow said, “You’ve cheated! You’ve cheated! On God!” and was then silent. I felt true Holy Spirit conviction break through to
my hardened heart and then warmth and love and relief and then praise! For I did ask God for forgiveness and He did hear me and He
does love me.

I know this was just one of those weird, vivid and emotionally charged dreams and I don’t know exactly what any of it means. But I do
know that when I awakened from this dream at four something this morning, my heart was racing and I had tears in my eyes and I am
different today on the inside than I was yesterday.

And I love you, Lord!
